Palm Recording Studio New Console

While setting up the console has been very difficult it looks pretty good there were three cracks in the top plate and the door had things that fell off and the hinges were not drilled right and lots of other problems we got it to work and assembeled the unit in about 2 1/2 days. This is the finished product. I would never recomend this builder to any one so go with some of the name brand gear like Agasy. I wish I did.

Mic Modeler

IF YOU'VE SPENT ANY TIME LATELY flipping thorough the pages of pro-audio magazines, you've almost certainly noticed the intense focus on microphones. From the proliferation of exotic new mics to the almost cult-like following of certain historical classics, never has the choice been greater. Or the prices higher. A perfect time, in fact, for Antares to introduce our new Microphone Modeler. Using our patented Spectral Shaping Tool (TM) technology, we've created digital models of a wide variety of microphones, from historical classics to modern exotics, as well as a selection ofindustry-standard workhorses. Simply tell the Microphone Modeler what microphone you are actually using andwhat microphone you'd like it to sound like. It's as simple as that.

Just Like Being There
Not only do the models reproduce sonic characteristics that make each microphone unique, but they also give you control of each mic's specific options. Does the mic have a low cut filter? If so, it's in the model. Wind screen on or off? Close or far placement? Each option results in the same sonic effect that it would have with the actual modeled mic. And for that final touch of perfection, you can even add some tasty tube saturation. With the Microphone Modeler, you can afford to record every track through a model of the specific mic that will produce the ideal sound you're looking for. Or use it in live performance to get the sound of mics you'd never consider bringing on stage. You can even use it during mixdown to effectively change the mic on an already recorded track. And with the ability to download new models from our web site, the Microphone Modeler will always keep you at the forefront of the microphone art.

Have It Your Way
The Microphone Modeler is available as a plug-in for TDM (OS X and OS9), MAS (OS 9), Audio Units, Mac VST (OS X and OS 9), Mac RTAS, and DirectX. And best of all, whichever version you choose, you can expect to pay substantially less than even a single modestly exotic mic.

Hear For Yourself!
You can now download a fully functional 10-day trial version of Mic Modeler and check it out for yourself.

Let me at it!

Upgrade Information
Upgrades to Microphone Modeler versions 1.38 for Mac OS X TDM, RTAS, Audio Units and VST are free for current owners of equivalent versions (i.e., Native to Native or TDM to TDM). Upgrades from any Native version to any TDM version is $199.00.

To upgrade (whether for a free upgrade or a paid TDM upgrade) you will need to have registered your current copy of Microphone Modeler and have your current Microphone Modeler serial number or registration code. Then head on over to the Software Upgrade Page and follow the directions there.

Please Note: Microphone Modeler has essentially been discontinued. The Mac OS X versions of Microphone Modeler will not be updated for compatibility with Intel Macs, nor will the PC versions be updated for Vista. It remains available for those still running compatible systems, but please note that they are sold without technical support. As demo versions are still available for download here, please check them out for compatibility with your system before purchasing.

How to reset the SMU on a Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) or Power Mac G5 (Late 2005)

How to reset the SMU on a Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) or Power Mac G5 (Late 2005)
Last Modified on: July 17, 2006
Article: 300341
Learn how to reset the SMU on Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) and Power Mac G5 (Late 2005) computers, and when to do so.

The SMU (System Management Unit) is a microcontroller chip on the logic board that controls all power functions for your computer. If your computer is experiencing any issues regarding these functions, resetting the SMU may resolve the issue. The functions controlled by the SMU include:

It tells the computer when to turn on, turn off, sleep, wake, idle, and so on.
It handles system resets from various commands.
It controls the fan.
Note that resetting the SMU does not reset the PRAM.

Resetting the SMU will not resolve issues in which your computer is unresponsive--in these situations, restarting your computer will generally suffice. If your computer isn't responding, perform these steps one at a time, in this order, until the issue has been resolved:

Force Quit (Option-Command-Escape)
Restart (Control-Command-Power)
Force Shut Down (press the power button for 10 seconds)
Resetting the SMU can resolve some computer issues such as not starting up, not displaying video, sleep issues, fan noise issues, and so on. If your computer still exhibits these types of issues even after you've restarted the computer, try resetting the SMU.

Power Mac G5 (Late 2004)
To reset the SMU on a Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) computer, simply do the following:

Turn off the computer by selecting Shut Down from the Apple menu or by holding the power button until the computer turns off.
Remove the power cord from the computer.
Wait two minutes.
Plug in the power cord.
Turn on the computer.
Power Mac G5 (Late 2005)
To reset the SMU on a Power Mac G5 (Late 2005) computer, either use the steps listed above for the Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) or:

Turn off the computer by selecting Shut Down from the Apple menu or by holding the power button until the computer turns off.
Open and remove both the metallic outer door and the inner plastic air deflector.
Remove the fan assembly immediately to the left of the processor module.
Press the SMU reset button on the logic board.
Replace the fan assembly, air deflector, and outer door.
Turn on the computer.
The SMU reset button is located underneath the lower bank of system memory slots, as shown below:

Unlike earlier models of Power Mac G5 or Power Mac G4 computers, the Power Mac G5 (Late 2004) and (Late 2005) models do not have a PMU. This functionality has been replaced by the SMU.

picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq

Merry Christmas to all!

Wouldn't it be fitting if this went completely around the world!.....

This needs to make headline news...not some of the other junk that makes the news these days!!! Like the Rosie O'Donell war of words...celeb weddings...who's not wearing undies...etc.

If you agree, please pass this along.

It's a tough, but heartwarming story...with a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq.

John Gebhardt's wife, Mindy, said that this little girl's entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head...but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John's hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what America i s trying to do.

This, my friends, is worth sharing with the WORLD! Go for it!! You'll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don't, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we're doing over there is making a difference. Even if it isjust one little girl at a time.
